A lot of people have pointed out to me that, if you watch the entire JJ Abrams interview with Jon Stewart, he goes on to talk about how much he came to love Star Trek as an adult, and that the viewer is left with the impression that he truly gets what Star Trek is about.
I didn’t watch the whole…
Well, after seeing the new movie I wouldn’t apologize even if he did at the interview. :(

He said Star Trek is too “philosophical”? Screw that noise.
I don’t know when this interview happened but I AM SAD AND ANGRY NOW
The philosophies in Star Trek are kinda part of the actual setting. If you don’t get that, why are you allowed to make Star Trek movies.
Sigh. The whole point of Star Trek is that it’s philosophical. If you don’t want philosophical Science Fiction, there’s plenty of that for you to enjoy, but Star Trek is philosophical. Philosophy is part of Star Trek’s DNA, and if you’re given the captain’s chair, you’d better damn well respect that.
Please, please, give the franchise now to someone who gets it and cares about it.

Except I couldn’t see his butt for all the plot holes and lense flares.hehe. I’m sure all the plot holes can be explained by deleted scenes….
It made me think: with so few Vulcans why put Spock inside that vulcano at the first oportunity? LOL!!!
Even with all the trauma, I can’t see how the new Spock could relate or befriend the new Kirk. Even with the changes they did to his personality, a lot different from the original Spock even BEFORE the destruction of Vulcan. Even if I was the last of my kind, I would be friends with someone I like, no because someone told me to. And this Kirk, with all the reasons to, is just a rebel without a cause. And the new movie hasn’t made him into an adult.
I hope you get what you hope for and the answers are on deleted scenes, but it doesn’t make the movie better. The movie is what it is. And I’m very sad with JJ and the writers treating Star Trek so lightly. :(

Sorry. No way they can explain why the blood of Khan was the only one that could save Kirk because he was an genetically modified human being and the other 72 genetically modified humans at hand on the Enterprise couldn’t and weren’t even tested!
It is not coherent. When Spock dies in Wrath of Khan, Kirk and he have known each other for YEARS. They are real friends. The new ones have been through one year together. Even if Spock prime says to new Spock that they have to be friends, that’s not a thing you can force. And even if you do, it’s not sentiment. It’s only logic.
JJ is smart, he throws action and good looking people and well formed asses at us ‘cause he thinks it is enough to drive us to the movies. But it’s not. Especially if it’s a Star Trek movie. I’m disappointed. The whole thing doesn’t make sense. :/
I always loved Star Trek because, despite the fact it is science fiction, it was so well thought and intelligent and creative that it made me believe we really could live it in the future. Now it is just a fantasy as Star Wars because not even how Starfleet works is related to “reality” anymore. :/
JJ and the writers have indeed created a Star Trek NOTHING like the Star Trek of my parents. In fact, it is not Star Trek at all. :(
